Legal basis

The legal basis for the cookies’ notification message was changed by the Slovenian Law on Electronic Communications (Official journal No. 109/2012, short ZEKom-1) that entered into force at the beginning of the year 2013 and has brought new rules on the use of cookies and similar technologies for storing information or accessing it by the user on a computer or mobile device.

What are cookies?

 A cookie is a small text file that is transferred on to the user's computer as he visits a website and it usually contains:

·       name of the server from which the cookie was sent;
·       the cookie’s lifespan;
·       its value – usually a randomly generated unique number.
The cookies themselves do not contain or collect information. However, if the server reads it together with the web browser, this can help the website to provide more user-friendly services. Only the server that has sent the cookie can read and use it.

On a trust-worthy website, cookies can enrich the user's experience. They may be stored for different periods of time, may it be only for the duration of the browsing session or longer. With the settings in your browser, you can choose whether to accept or reject the cookies.

If you do not accept the cookies, some websites may not be displayed properly or you may not be able to access all the information or functionalities of the websites.

There are three main cookie types:
·       urgently needed cookies: these cookies are essential as they allow scrolling through the website, using its functions or providing the required services. No user authorisation is required to use cookies from Kop Commerce.
·       online cookies: these cookies help Kop Commerce to understand how users use websites. Cookies help us to improve the user's experience and identify their requirements and trends. We only use these cookies if the user agrees.
·       target cookies or third-party advertising cookies: these cookies are used for delivering advertisements that are more important for the users and their interests. They are also used to limit the number of advertisements, as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are normally installed by advertising networks authorised by the website operator. They remember you visited a website and pass this information on to other organisations, such as advertisers. Targeted or advertising cookies are often linked to the functionality of a website offered by another organisation. These include social network cookies like those of Twitter, Facebook or Google.

Which cookies are used on our website and why:

On our website only cookies that are in accordance with ZEKom-1 are used. Only those cookies are used which are strictly necessary for the operation of this website. To record the statistics of on site visits, we use a system that only records the session cookie and does not follow your continued behaviour on the website or in connection with other pages. With the continued use of this website you agree with the use of the cookies described below.
